Black Boys on Mopeds (demo)

from Green Oranges by 1985

/

about

This is a song from another era but not enough has changed and there is a long way to go in working for racial justice and against police militarization and the prison industrial complex in this country and in our communities. Sharing this song will not change anything but I wanted to encourage folks to reach out and get involved locally with groups fighting for racial justice and fighting against the vast institutional racism that pervades our society and the overt and subtle discrimination that many of our friends and allies have to put up with daily. Black Lives Matter and there are many groups and communities around us working hard to expose and change this racist status quo. I hope you are able to find one that welcomes you and are able to contribute to this work as appropriately as possible.

I am not at all affiliated with the Seattle group EPIC (Ending the Prison Industrial Complex) but I am very thankful they are in the community doing the work they do. Please take a moment to check out what they stand for and are working on:
