This is a cassette re-issue of the 2010 autococoon debut album "Ponies Float" which includes 17 tracks written and recorded in the years leading up to and following the release of the original album. The collection of songs spans many eclectic moments in the song-writing eras of autococoon and even includes some field recordings from her time in Guatemala & Honduras and a couple dance hits!

Tracks 3, 4, 8, 14, and 16 were roughly recorded just to get the songs down so that they did not slip away into the deep dark sea. Thanks to Evan Williamson for encouraging and facilitating that, since it is unlikely that they will ever be played again. Summer 2009, on a front lawn in east Olympia.

Tunes 2, 6, 9, 11, and 15 were recorded in December 2010 in suburban Philadelphia on a 4-track. This tunegang is called "learning to use a 4-track."

Tracks 1, 10, and 13 are field recordings from Guatemala and Honduras.

Tracks 5, 12, 17 are snips of a long solo morning jam about a dream about shells and more. Seattle, March 2012.

Track 7 was captured on a one-track tape recorder, written and recorded for a compilation but didn't make the cut. Fresh buzz!

Ponies Float in 8 tracks, was released originally on March 17th, 2010 on MASA Records! Side A, AKA Flourishy Side A, is comprised of 4 songs using overdubs. Unflourishy Side B is made of 4 songs without overdubs. Caitlin Payne Roberts is autococoon, & she & company recorded the tracks in Olympia, WA & Furlong, PA in the summer & fall of 2009. The album art contains an olde-fashioned fortune teller origami piece for yr divining pleasures, all color pencil drawings based on old photos from her mom's teenage years.
